Welcome to Our Christian Contemplative Community!

   Our group is made up of those who have given themselves to a contemplative way of being in the world.  Participants are prayerful Christians choosing to reflect Christ in the world.  We desire to be humble and loving in the midst of life and its sufferings and joys.  We make a serious commitment to the Community.  We live in Northern Nevada and seek support from one another as we try to live faithfully and fully as Christians human beings.

   Meetings take place once a month on Saturday afternoons from 1:00 pm until 3:30 pm.  
The summer months bring a pause in our get-togethers.

   When we meet, the schedule includes silent meditation, contemplation, and personal sharing .  All sharing is optional and held confidential.

   We experience silent medita-
tion and contemplative conversa- tion in the first hour and spend time sharing in the second hour.   Sometimes sharing takes most of the time. (For more on contemplative prayer click: )

Some sharing questions for contemplative conversation include:

1. How has the Holy Spirit been at work in your life recently?

2. What temptations have
you experienced lately?

4. What disappointments have you had?

5. How have you been of service to others?

"Thanks again to Joan for hosting us yesterday.  What a wonderfully warm home and gathering spot!
Last evening, I found myself singing a song from my youth (I think) with the words, "Wonderful things happen when God mixes with us.... Great and wonderful, beautiful things."  What an uplifting meeting.  It seems that everyone sitting there had grown so much since we last met or in the last year and it seemed to be because of the spirit of God moving among and around and within us.  As each story
unfolded I sat there in awe of where we were in relation to where we've been.  Wow!  What an affirmation of God's love and work in the world.  You have all, through the gathering of the group, become an inspiration and reminder for me.  Thank you for following the path that God is leading you on."
