| Step 1: An Act of Presence |
I imagine myself like a child who is a servant
and stand before the Trinity, that is, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. If this
is too difficult, it may be easier to place yourself before "the
Mystery that is God." Indicate that you wish to be with Jesus the
Living Christ.
|
| Step 2: An Asking for Grace |
I ask for the grace to be attentive and to be
self-emptied attending to Christ in silence. |
| Step. 3: A Passive Activity |
I wait with a servant-heart and only respond to God’s lead. This means
that I let any thoughts, ideas, feelings, worries that come to me during
this time, simply pass by. I do not let myself give them further thought or
reflection. I keep my attentiveness to the Living Christ, who is present in
the silent darkness, loving me unconditionally. I come as a child, dependent
completely on God, and as a servant, open to respond to God as God leads.
|
| Step 4: A Colloquy |
After a time of silent intimacy, perhaps 20 minutes, perhaps an hour, I
speak authentically from my heart with the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy
Spirit.
|
| Step 5: A Review |
I reflect and journal about my experience of prayer.
